COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Long Wharf Park Project

Cambridge, MD: In 2012, the University of Maryland students led a 2-day design workshop with Dr. Chanse to develop concepts for improving Cambridge's oldest waterfront park, Long Wharf Park. This workshop included activities ranged from information about current park use to envisioning different futures for Long Wharf Park.

The City of Cambridge incorporated community feedback into their grant proposal for green infrastructure improvements to Long Wharf Park. In 2014, the Green Streets, Green Towns, Green Job Initiative awarded $399,560 to the City for green infrastructure improvements at Long Wharf Park. This was the largest grant in that year's round of grants.
